Dr. Walsdorf's Mission
I have always believed in the power of Nature, and the importance of "the natural" in one's life. Part of my mission is to do what few other doctors do—bring Nature and its powers back into the healing equation. One of my core beliefs is that Nature holds within itself the important "principles" that we each need to be healthy and whole.
While I believe that there is clearly a time for modern medicine, I feel the problem today is that pharmaceutical medicine is much too over-dominant. While modern medicine is incredibly useful for emergency room issues, or acute flair-ups for certain health problems, it really is not so good when it comes to restoring one's health and wellness.
While I don't suggest that natural answers are possible for all infirmaries, I do know that if natural health therapies were used a lot more extensively in doctor's offices, much good would be accomplished on a variety of significant health fronts, and with greatly reduced costs.
We are spending more of our money on health care costs, even as people keep getting sicker. I'm on a mission to change that. I believe that much of recovering health is ultimately about getting "more Nature", more of these natural principles, into your body, mind and spirit.
One of these natural principles is about the importance of movement. Whether it is within my Cranio-Sinus therapies, my spinal adjustments, or my work with posture and special exercises, I incorporate the natural health concept that "life is movement, movement is life." I am on a mission to help people appreciate that they can pump important life-vitalizing principles into different parts of the body by moving more and with better postures.
Similarly, I am on a mission of helping patients appreciate that there are a diversity of "natural principles" that work together in the wide variety of vitamins, minerals, and other vibrant biochemistries that make up a natural diet.
Still, while much of my mission is to help patients overcome their headaches, sinus issues, pain, fatigue, and other deeper health problems through natural ways, another part of my mission moves beyond even that. I believe that while the natural health needs are so strong, our natural sensibilities are exceedingly under-emphasized in our society today. Toward this end, I co-founded the Syracuse Holistic Wellness Council six years ago to promote natural ways to health and wellness.
The Syracuse Holistic Wellness Council is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) civic organization that I am currently president. The Council is a place that I spend much of my time when I am not helping my patients in the Center, researching leading-edge natural health therapies, or finishing up my book on natural therapies for reclaiming health.
